Discovery Channel today proclaimed: "Monkey Vocab Richer Than Thought."
say what? you mean monkeys have more words than they have thoughts? you mean monkeys have a greater ability to chatter than to think?
yea, sounds like monkeys all right.
of course, what they actually meant to say is that monkey vocabulary is richer than scientists previously thought it was.
things like this happen when trying to shorten an article into a headline.
I've got a whole collection of headlines like this in a book I own titled Squad Helps Dog Bite Victim.
